Sania Mirza Shoaib Malik Wedding has been officially confirmed by Sania Mirza and her family in a press conference in Hyderabad. A visibly happy Sania confirmed saying,

“We can all be one happy family. We are getting married. We are not also making any political statement. It’s a simple matter. We are getting married. We are very, very happy and our families are very happy.”

Talking about her career as a star tennis player Sania said, “Everything remains the same, except I will be married. I am going to keep playing for India. He’s (Shoaib’s) going to keep playing for Pakistan. Inshallah.”

Ask her if there would be any change of loyalties after marriage and she sweetly replies, “I will support India but I will support my husband too.”

Sania made it clear that she is more bothered about how she is going to wear her hair on her wedding than all the protests by Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

“It doesn’t matter if someone emulates me. All that matters for me is how I am going to look on my wedding day. I am going be more worried about how my hair is going to be, rather than the Pakistan political issues. And Shoaib will be more worried about how his hair is under the cap!”

Nikhil of Shantanu-Nikhil designer duo is going to design her wedding trousseau.

Katrina Kaif: I will not kiss

324008-katrina_hot

Katrina Kaif has become more cautious since her debut Boom days where she did some explicit scenes and now is vary about kissing or exposing on-screen.

Katrina Kaif’s movie contract has two permanent clauses, one which states that she will not expose onscreen i.e wear a bikini and the other clause states that she will not smooch on screen.

Now this clause is playing a havoc for Karan Johar and Tarun Mansukhani who have cast Katrina Kaif for Dostana 2.

Apparently Katrina does not want to risk her sweet Indian girl image by indulging in such controversial scenes.

Close to the heels of Priyanka Chopra marrying seven men in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Saat Khoon Maaf, Kareena Kapoor is all set to romance five men in Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming film based on Hollywood beauty Marilyn Monroe.

A friend of Madhur says, “Madhur has always been fascinated by Marilyn Monroe’s life.It may not be an exact representation of Marilyn’s life but there will be several elements from the late Hollywood star’s life. He approached Kareena to play the lead role only when he was sure that he could translate every aspect of his research into a story.”

Apparently Madhur is not looking for five good suitors to star opposite Bebo.

Sonam Kapoor transforms into Sania Mirza

dsc_5519

Sonam Kapoor is all set to play to play Sania Mirza in her upcoming romantic comedy movie Thank You.

Incidentally like Sania Mirza who got engaged to childhood sweetheart Sohrab Mirza and then broke off her engagement before zeroing on Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, Sonam also falls for a guy who is completely wrong for her.

Director Anees Bazmee says, “Sonam does pay a tennis champ, and Akshay Kumar plays a guy who’s seeing 30-35 girls at the same time, until he meets Sonam. Though he gives up flirting, he’s not particularly serious about Sonam too. It’s a funny take on courtship.”

Talking about Sania Mirza inspiration for the role, Anees says, “I wouldn’t like to take any names but any girl playing a tennis player would have similarities to the name you mentioned.”

Do you think Sonam Kapoor fits the bill to play Sania Mirza?

Shahid Kapoor school interview

shahid-kapoor-in-paathshala-bollywood-3215420-1024-683

Shahid Kapoor will be seen in Ahmed Khan’s Paathshaal where he plays the role of a hatke school teacher. Talking about the movie Shahid gets nostalgic remembing his school days. Read Shahid’s school interview:

Which school did you study in?
I studied in Gyan Bharati School, Delhi till Standard 4 and then joined Rajhans Vidyalaya, Mumbai in Standard 5.

In touch with any school friends?
I am in touch with a few friends from my Delhi school days. In fact, Sriram, a friend from my pre-primary days, comes to Mumbai to visit quite often. He stays in Bengaluru and is a senior manager in a corporate firm.

Describe yourself aged ten?
I was a very naughty child. I was an average to above average student. I was neither a brat nor a teacher’s pet. I was a bit of both. My two friends and I were called the pillars of the class because we were always standing in the class as punishment.

Which were your favourite and worst subjects?
Science was my favourite but I was terrible in Math. I was never the front beacher nor the last bencher. I was somewhere in between.

Any favourite teacher?
Nobody in school but Shiamak Davar was my favourite after I left school.

Did you ever bunk school?
Yes I tried to a few times but always got caught!

Crush on any teacher?
Yes, I did have a few but it may look a little bad for them to be mentioned like this, though I am sure they knew I was deeply in love with them as only young people can be.

Remember any girls from your school days?
Yes. There was a girl in my school when I was in Standard 8 whom I had a crush on and I used to go to tuition class only because she went there but she was also keen on another guy and dhokha happened!

What is your best memory from your school days?
Best memories are attached to my school in Delhi. We were a gang of four boys and we ruled. There was a new building coming up in the school compound and we played with mud and pebbles in that construction area all day. Also Samir, one of the guys in our gang, had a crush on this cute girl in class and the rest of us made sure no other boy could sit next to her. We were in Standard 2 during this episode.

And a painful memory….
That would be when I shifted to Mumbai and joined a new school. I was in Standard 5. Because I was from a different city, I was the perpetual outsider — whether it was the way I spoke or the things I said — everything I did was different from Mumbai students. Most times the complaints against me to my teachers came from the rest of the class and I spent many interesting afternoons standing outside the class.

What’s the one thing you feel every school should have today?
Every school should have a student suggestion box where the students can put in their complaints anonymously and be confident their issues will be addressed genuinely.

What do you feel about the education system in India today?
We have a great academic system. The importance given to hard work and education is very good but sometimes, it gets a bit excessive.

Why did you say yes to Paathshaala?
It was being made by Shaira and Ahmed Khan, who are family to me and also because the subject is very relevant and I feel strongly about it. I hope that my association with the movie will take it to more people.

Abhishek Bachchan faces a ban

abhishek-bachchan-idea

Abhishek Bachchan’s recent Idea advertisement that promoted the message “Use mobile, save paper” was a huge hit amongst the masses.

However Abhishek couldn’t save his ad from facing the axe like the trees in advertisement, as the concept has not gone down well with Indian papers manufactures association, and the ad has been banned from being aired on T.v.

Head of Paper Association, R Narayan Moorthy says, “All papers are not made out of cutting trees, we make papers by recycling old papers and also by using wood fibre. The Idea save paper ad is going to have a very very bad effect on our industry.”

Incidentally brand ambassador Abhishek Bachchan was absolutely clueless about the ad being pulled off-air.

3407249145_4265eaa4f3

When Hrithik Roshan started his career in 2000 with hit movie Kaho Na Pyaar Hai and snatched the Filmfare Best Actor award right under the nose of SRK, the media speculated a strong war between Hrithik and SRK.

Switch over to 2010 and Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan are great buddies now and regulary meet each other.

Hrithik says, ““We have become very close and have partied together so often. We have celebrated each other’s successes and also each other’s failures. Shah Rukh and I are just happy friends and we look for every little excuse to spend time with each other. Shah Rukh and I have a relationship where there is no competition or jealousy. There is nothing but pure love.”

Now that’s a great and pure dostana between two Bollywood hunks.
